"java virtual machine launcher" - "could not find the main class programm will exit"

i try to use 1.424 + 1.425 DEV and i have also tryed to install the 1.426 beta. and constanly by starting the HO/executing the ho.bat i get this message. -> "java virtual machine launcher" - "could not find the main class programm will exit".

java version 6 update 17 is installed.

any ideas?

Are you sure to have Java6 active as default?

Try running: Start -> Execute... -> cmd [OK]
Black Window pops up, enter: java -version [Enter]

java version "1.4.2_03"
java(tm)runtime environment , standard edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02)
java hotspot(tm) client vm (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode)

HO 1.425 needs at least Java 5 (JDK 1.5). It seems that you have installed JDK 1.4 and 1.6 and the old 1.4 is the default.

i already tried to download the latest version from the Java hp with the result we are faced now... :o( any recommendations?

Uninstall the old version or configure to the newer version as default in your system settings?
