Important HO 1.424 news (login issue)

Hi all,

Hattrick released a new update on their servers today. This update included the ban for all outdated CHPP-IDs. Unforunately this affects HO 1.424 because we had a ID change when the CHPP license was transferred the last time. HO 1.424 uses the old ID and is now (unintentionally) banned on HT servers. We contacted the CHPP staff, but it seems like they can't / won't change anything on their side. That means, HO 1.424 won't ever get a working HT connection.

We were working on a new HO release and this does - of course - use the new CHPP ID. It can connect to HT without any problems, but is only in beta stage at the moment.

What does this mean for you?
You can either use HO 1.425 nightly/beta from here and "ignore" it's beta state.
Or you can wait until we release an new official version. I have to add, that we don't know any downsides of the latest beta version. Just minor issues - which were also in HO 1.424 or affect new features only. Plus, the next release will probably be quite similiar to the latest beta.

Helpful links:
- HO help files
- short Howto update HO from a Zip release
- download HO Beta versions (.deb = Linux Debian package, .dmg.gz = Apple Mac, .zip = platform independend version)
- get Java updates - HO 1.425 needs at least Java5 (= JDK 1.5)

Best regards,
HO staff

UPDATE (8th August): the HTs activated the old CHPPid for a short time. That means, HO 1.424 will work again - for now!
We will release an official HO 1.425 in the next days, but for now your are safe with HO 1.424 or the 1.425 Beta. Both versions work fine.

UPDATE (28th December): i just got a message from the HTs that they will soon remove the workaround for old HO versions. If you haven't updated to HO 1.425 yet, now would be a good time :)

Are you sure, you updated properly?
The window title should look like this: "HO! Hattrick Organizer 1.425 DEV".

My mistake.I was trying to login with my username instead of my login name.

Now it's working correctly.

receive error after installing beta

Hi,

I have installed the beta version accoording to the how to guide and receive an error message after installation.
The error I receive is:
Jaca Virtual Machine Launcher
Could not find the main class. Program will exit.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have update Java as well and have latest version running.

Thanks.

Beta versiomn

I downloaded the beta on my Mac. I use HO.jar to start it. Is that OK? It seems to work but in the training section the prediction for the ups in training does not show.

Did you overwrite your old HO! or did you installed it in a new directory? In the second case you need to copy your old database (folder 'db') to have access to your old training data.

On Mac you should normally install the .dmg release which updates your current installation.

dmg for apple

It did solve the problem of updating the files. Thanks. Still, there is a few questions concerning the team planner : the sponsor income is around 60 000 when the real number is 142 000; can you explain ?
